Biomerica Receives Notice of Patent Allowance in China for a Potential Innovative Technology

Biomerica Inc. has received a Notice of Allowance for a patent application that covers a development stage IT system from the China National Intellectual Property Administration. The system includes an artificial intelligence claim aimed at assisting individuals to protect themselves against potential adverse reactions to specific food ingredients and offers personalized approaches to dietary interventions and safety. The technology could recommend alternative packaged or prepared foods that do not contain harmful food ingredients, allowing individuals with various medical conditions, allergies, illnesses, and food intolerances more control and confidence in their dietary choices.

The patented IT system described by Biomerica is designed to predict and prevent adverse food reactions using personal medical data through algorithms that determine safety levels of food ingredients. It can offer personalized approaches to dietary interventions and safety by evaluating the potential health risks associated with consuming specific prepared foods based on a patient's medical records including immune response to specific food ingredients identified through Biomerica’s patented inFoods® IBS test or other foods that cause adverse reactions such as gluten intolerance. By deriving a confidence level from these records, the IT system can assess the likelihood of an adverse reaction to common packaged or prepared foods containing harmful ingredients and recommend alternative options without those ingredients.
